01 Objective

Improve part modeling and product design skills in CATIA through an ergonomic consumer-product exercise.

02 Problem Statement

Handheld consumer products need smooth, ergonomic surfaces that balance visual appeal with a plausible grip geometry.

03 Design Process

I modeled the main components — body, handle, nozzle, and control switch — with attention to smooth geometry and realistic proportions, then applied materials and rendered the result.

04 CAD Models

Full hair-dryer assembly modeled in CATIA Part Design.

05 Design Decisions

Rounded the handle profile for ergonomic plausibility rather than modeling it as a simple extrusion.

06 Materials

Matte plastic finish applied for the final render.

07 Challenges

Balancing ergonomic grip geometry with manufacturability in the handle design.

08 Results & Outcomes

Achieved a realistic, ergonomically detailed hair-dryer product render.

09 Learnings

Good practice in ergonomic product detailing — balancing manufacturability with a comfortable, realistic form.
